Self portraits ED photo assignment 1

For my self portraits I have done some different formats. I used large format camera, photogram and pinhole. The large format camera I used was really confusing and took me about eight times to get it right, but it was interesting and something new.

This is the photo from the large format

Although we had studio lighting the image came out quite dark, we should have used more flashes to brighten it up. The exposure for this picture was 8 seconds and within those 8 seconds this was using only two flashes.

The second format I did was photogram, it's really simple and fun to use. It gives a great image at the end. Here are some of my photograms.
This photogram ^ was created by exposing the paper to the light for 3 seconds, I really like how my keyring turned out, however my lipstick did not turn out as well as my next one did.

This is the photogram that I felt represented me the best, the five pound note however did not turn out how i expected. This was exposing the paper to the light for 3 seconds also. The lipstick in this one turned out a lot better and is more interesting.

This photogram was using the least exposure, i only exposed it for 1 second. The coke bottle turned out really well and i'm very pleased with it.

I also used a pinhole camera made from a biscuit tin, I really like the results of pinhole cameras, however mine turned out a little bit light but it was trial and error.
In this image I am stood looking at the camera, although you cannot tell too well, I would like to do more pinhole photos to see what exposure works best and the best light to do it in.
The last self portraits I took were using a DSLR, I have also edited the saturation and colours a little.

I turned it upside down to make it more interesting and a bit different.

This photo I desaturated and added a filter over it, I think it turned out well.
